Last night's Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Federated Auto Parts 400 at Richmond Raceway drew a "bigger crowd than recent races" at the track (RICHMOND.com, 9/9).

Dale Earnhardt Jr. was "officially eliminated" from the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series playoffs with a 13th-place finish yesterday. He is "retiring at the end of the season and has never won a Cup title" (AP, 9/9).
