Harbaugh: Michigan Football Will Wear Alternate Uniform Once In '17

Michigan football coach Jim Harbaugh on Friday confirmed that alternate uniforms "are coming back" for at least one game this year. Harbaugh: "When we first signed up with Nike we said that's something we'd be interested in, they were interested in it. It's been designed. (They'll be used) at least once this year. ... I don't know if I'm at liberty to say which game." UM has "not worn an alternate jersey" since a home win over Penn State in '14. Harbaugh said that he "helped design" the uniforms (MLIVE.com, 6/2).

Harbaugh last year hinted that an all-maize uniform "was an idea that intrigued him." UM's previous apparel provider, Adidas, "came up with four or five" alternate uniforms under the former administration led by AD Dave Brandon and football coach Brady Hoke (FREEP.com, 6/3).
