ESPN's "E:60" Rolls Out New Hour-Long Sunday Morning Format

The new hour-long version of ESPN’s “E:60” debuted this morning at 9:00am ET, and co-host Bob Ley introduced the new format: “We'll be telling you stories to enlighten, to inform, to entertain. Stories of the famous and the obscure, the powerful and the powerless.” Co-host Jeremy Schaap: “A generation ago, a fellow named Dick Schaap used to kick off Sunday mornings here on ESPN by promising, in his words, 'Reviews and previews, highlights and sidelights, cheers and jeers.'” The show led off with a piece on Cowboys QB Dak Prescott before devoting the majority of of its airtime to a featured story on the Syrian National Soccer Team (“E:60,” ESPN, 5/14).

ESPN runs a full-page ad in Sunday's N.Y. Times promoting "E:60" and "OTL" with the copy, "Groundbreaking Storytelling & Journalism" (THE DAILY).
