Fox Moves MLS Games To Accompany Sunday NFL Coverage

Fox has moved two MLS games today to its over-the-air broadcast channel, but viewers will "only see whichever one is going on during the time slot" when the local Fox affiliate "isn't broadcasting a NFL game." Fox Sports Exec VP/Programming, Research & Content Strategy Bill Wanger said that 31% of the country will see Sporting KC-Galaxy and 68% will get Toronto FC-Red Bulls. Wanger said this will be "the first time in MLS' history where there's regionalized coverage surrounding NFL Games." Wanger: "It's going to get a lot of attention." Wanger said the Red Bulls match "should be one of the top regular season games in a long time for MLS in terms of audience figures" (PHILLY.com, 9/17).
