Weekend Hot Reads....

FiveThirtyEight's Christie Aschwanden wrote the NFL's "shoddy science means we know even less about concussions" than originally thought. The N.Y. Times report on the NFL's flawed concussion research shows there is "still so much we don't know."  To "draw scientific conclusions about the risks associated with head trauma," the "lingering uncertainties" need to be acknowledged. Also, USA Today's Jarrett Bell imagines the "impact on the NFL" when the "day comes that there's a definitive test to diagnose" CTE in the living.

Tampa Bay Baseball Market's Michael Loritz sat down for a Q&A with Rays Chief Business Officer Jeff Cogen, who touched on a range of topics, including the team's recent trip to Cuba. Cogen, who used to work for the Predators, said there "are a lot of parallels" between the MLB and NHL. Cogen added, "I love selling a winner. If we are not, it is not an excuse to not do what we need to do."
