Mayweather Remains Perfect Before Sellout Crowd In Vegas

Boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. last night at MGM Grand Garden Arena "survived a 12-round street fight against Argentina’s Marcos Maidana to unify the world welterweight title and improve to 46-0 in front of a sellout crowd of 16,238" (LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL, 5/4). A September rematch between the two fighters appears to be a "safe bet" after they both called for one following the fight (LAS VEGAS SUN, 5/4).

Meanwhile, Corona's logo "was seemingly everywhere" during the fight, which was held on Cinco de Mayo weekend. Corona "was one of the top sponsors of the event, so it got promo space" on the ropes, the bikinis of the ring girls, the round cards held by the ring girls and an attraction at the entrance of the arena where fans could have their photos taken with three Corona-bikini-clad models (LAS VEGAS SUN, 5/4).
