Dierdorf Concludes Broadcasting Career As Media Members Pay Tribute

CBS' Dan Dierdorf worked last night's Patriots-Colts AFC Divisional playoff game, his final game as an analyst before retiring. He said,  "All I ever wanted to do for my entire life was work for CBS Sports. ... How many people really get to have their dream come true like that?" CBS' Greg Gumbel said to Dierdorf, "I know I speak for all the men and women of CBS Sports as well as every single member of our crew when I say that it has been such an honor and such a privilege to have been alongside you these last eight years" ("Colts-Patriots," CBS, 1/11). CBSSN’s Amy Trask said, "His passion for, his love for, and his knowledge of the game was unsurpassed. He is, and I mean this in the highest sense possible, a football man" ("That Other Pregame Show," CBSSN, 1/12).
