NFL Will Have Competition For Viewers Today With Popular Shows On

Today is "shaping up to be an embarrassment of riches" for TV viewers, with the ususal NFL games as well as several anticipated TV episodes. The biggest events are "arguably on cable: AMC's 'Breaking Bad' series finale and Showtime's 'Homeland' premiere," and that is "not to mention the premiere of 'The Good Wife' on CBS, 'Revenge' on ABC and Showtime's new drama 'Masters of Sex.'" The "dilemma for most football fans is that football isn't really something that can wait." Football "will undoubtedly win the night" in terms of pure numbers, but "Breaking Bad" and "The Good Wife" are "expected to do relatively well for their networks too" (WALL STREET JOURNAL, 9/27).

Meanwhile, E! tonight at 10:00pm ET "will debut the reality TV show 'Eric & Jessie: Game On'" featuring Broncos WR Eric Decker and his wife Jessie James, "a country and pop singer, in the weeks leading up to their wedding in June" (DENVER POST, 9/28).
