Sources: MLB Paid For Biogenesis Documents After A-Rod Tried To First

Sources said that former employees of the now-shuttered Biogenesis of America anti-aging clinic in South Florida, and others who have ties to it, have told MLB that Yankees 3B Alex Rodriguez "arranged to purchase documents from the clinic to keep them out of the hands of baseball officials." Rodriguez' spokesperson on Friday "denied" that his client had "arranged to acquire any documents." There are an "untold number of documents swirling around, and questions about what they actually show and how they would be authenticated." A source said that MLB may "ultimately choose to focus on testimony it has obtained from a number of the clinic’s former employees rather than the documents if it proceeds with efforts to discipline Rodriguez or other players" (N.Y.
