Fox’ Jay Glazer reported that suspended Saints coach Sean Payton is attending today’s Saints game at the Superdome. Glazer said, "He shows up to his parking spot, security is waiting for him, they bring him right up to his suite. Afterward, I think he can talk to Drew Brees. He’s gone after that” (“Fox NFL Sunday,” 10/7).

CBS’ James Brown landed an exclusive interview with replacement ref Lance Easley, who called the controversial TD in the Packers-Seahawks game. Easley said, “I did the best job I could.”  Overall, he called being a replacement ref “a very difficult situation. … I am very pleased and happy and enjoyed the whole ride” (“NFL Today,” 10/7).

The Magic-Hornets game today in Mexico City is the 20th exhibition game played in Mexico, "the most of any country outside" the U.S. or Canada and the first exhibition game at the new Mexico City Arena (REUTERS, 10/6).

Wisconsin-based retailer Oppermacher.com is selling “Worst Call Ever 10.5.12” T-shirts commemorating Braves fans’ unhappiness over the team’s loss in the NL Wild Card game Friday. The shirts are priced at $20.12 to “reflect the year” (AJC.com, 10/6).

Nets minority Owner Jay-Z got to the Barclays Center on Saturday for the last of his eight concerts at the arena “by taking” the R train. The 18,200-seat arena “has been sold out all week” (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 10/7).
