Snow Days: NHL Outdoor Game In Ottawa Going Ahead As Planned

NHL officials said that snow in the Ottawa region "isn't slowing down preparations for Saturday night's outdoor game" at TD Place Stadium featuring Canadiens-Senators. NHL Senior Manager of Facility Operations Derek King said, "It's all on schedule and we're good to go." Workers have been "busy shovelling and blowing snow off the playing surface and outside the boards" (OTTAWA CITIZEN, 12/13).

Meanwhile, the Bills for the second week in a row brought in snow shovelers at New Era Field ahead of Sunday's home game against the Dolphins. A post on the Bills' website called for "anyone ages 18 and over (or under 18 with proper working papers)" to begin work at 9:00am ET yesterday. Pay was $11 per hour, with a Bills game ticket "given to those that work a four-hour shift or longer" (BILLS.com, 12/12).
