ESPN Radio's "Golic & Wingo" Debuts In Morning Drive Time

Mike Golic and Trey Wingo's new ESPN Radio, "Golic & Wingo" show debuted today in the 6:00-10:00am ET time slot, and the transition "should be painless." Wingo "has been the regular guest host" for "Mike & Mike." Wingo "will continue hosting 'NFL Live' and 'NFL Prime Time' through the Super Bowl." After that, he "will cut back" to one "NFL Live" show per week, plus the NFL Draft, Pro Football HOF induction, and "other special events" (HOUSTON CHRONICLE, 11/23).

Wingo said of the new program, "I kind of look at this like when I replaced Boomer (Chris Berman) on the draft. There is a pretty good foundation there. My job is not to burn it to the ground" (DALLASNEWS.com, 11/24). More Wingo: "There's no way to sort of blow up (the show) and do a lot of different things. ... 'Mike & Mike' morphed into a TV show that was on radio. We're going to bring it back to a radio show that's on TV" (SPORTINGNEWS.com, 11/27).
