College Football Notes: Penn State Raises Season-Ticket Prices

Season tickets for Penn State football will "cost $35 more" in '18, with the increase being "across-the-board, applying to the main seating bowl, the Nittany Lion Club and suites" at Beaver Stadium. The cost of a seat in the main bowl will "rise from $385 to $420 per season" (PITTSBURGH POST-GAZETTE, 11/14).

Auburn plans to "open up Auburn Arena and broadcast" the Nov. 25 game against Alabama on the arena's scoreboard for fans who "don't have tickets" to get into Jordan-Hare Stadium. The school "did the same thing" for the Iron Bowl in '13 (AL.com, 11/13).

Univ. of Kansas Chancellor Douglas Girod yesterday "publicly announced support" for AD Sheahon Zenger and football coach David Beaty in an open letter sent to faculty and alumni. Zenger "had his own deal re-upped in May" and he now "makes $700,000 annually" with a $1.4M buyout. The Jayhawks are 1-9 this season (K.C. STAR, 11/14).
