Elliott's Suspension To Be Reinstated After Judge Denies Injunction

Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott's six-game suspension is "set to be reinstated" tonight after a federal judge late yesterday in N.Y. denied his "motion for a preliminary injunction after a two-hour hearing." U.S. District Judge Katherine Polk Failla rejected Elliott and the NFLPA's claims that the NFL "conspired against Elliott to prevent him from receiving a fundamentally fair appeal." She granted a 24-hour stay on her ruling so that Elliott can "consider appellate options in the Second U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals." But after "fighting since the suspension was issued Aug. 11, Elliott has few speedy options left" (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 10/31). At this point, "precedent and labor law work against" Elliott (DALLASNEWS.com, 10/30).

The DALLAS MORNING NEWS goes with the header, "Biggest Mistake By Ezekiel Elliott And The Cowboys? Not Serving His Suspension Right Away." SI.com goes with, "A Win For The NFL, But Not So Much For Roger Goodell."
