Bucks Host Celtics In Throwback Game At MECCA Arena

The Bucks tonight return to their old MECCA arena to play the Celtics in a game to be broadcast on TNT. The team has not played in the 11,000-seat venue, now known as UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena, since '88. The one-night return is part of the team’s celebration of its 50th anniversary season. The Bucks have created a new court for the game that is a replica of the old MECCA floor. The team is charging an average ticket price of more $100 for the throwback game, more than the current $75 ticket price average at BMO Harris Bradley Center, Bucks officials said.

“We are using it as a massive platform for hospitality from current sponsors to founding partners in our new building to a few prospects on naming rights for the new building,” said Bucks President Peter Feigin. The arena is currently the home to UW-Milwaukee basketball and the AHL Milwaukee Admirals.
