After a nearly four-hour Rhode Island Senate Finance Committee hearing last night on the prospects of a new Pawtucket ballpark for the Triple-A Int'l League Red Sox "drew about 100 people," PawSox Chair Larry Lucchino "wouldn’t say whether he’s open to the idea of a voter referendum" (PROVIDENCE JOURNAL, 10/20).

The Univ. of Michigan will "rename the ice rink at Yost Ice Arena for long-time coach Red Berenson, who retired at the end of last season." The UM Board of Regents yesterday approved the move during a board meeting (DETROIT FREE PRESS, 10/20).
