The N.Y. TIMES writes, as NFL team owners consider President Trump’s “call to fire players who refuse to stand for the national anthem, they have stumbled into one of the most consequential debates in today’s workplace: How far can workers go in banding together to address problems related to their employment?” The TIMES also examines voter reaction to Trump's NFL remarks. Meanwhile, the GREEN BAY PRESS-GAZETTE examines why Packers TE Lance Kendricks, whose family’s military history “traces to the Civil War,” would choose to sit during the national anthem.

USA TODAY writes under the header, “Why Chargers Will Never leave L.A.” Eight reasons are given as to why the franchise “is destined to stay there for the long haul.” The Chargers “knew their first years in L.A. wouldn’t be easy.” They also “know there’s no going back to San Diego.”
