U.S. Soccer Asks FIFA For Minute Of Silence For Las Vegas Victims

U.S. Soccer has petitioned FIFA to have a "minute of silence at Orlando City Stadium" prior to Friday's Panama-U.S. World Cup qualifier to honor the victims of the Las Vegas shooting. USMNT MF and team captain Michael Bradley today is "due to discuss the Las Vegas tragedy with the media" (USA TODAY, 10/4).

Meanwhile, the Golden Knights announced they are "partnering with the NHL and the Foley Family Charitable Trust" -- tied to team Owner Bill Foley -- to "donate $300,000 to the victims and first responders of the mass shooting" (USATODAY.com, 10/3).

NHL Kings employee Christiana Duarte was "one of nearly 60 people killed" in the shooting. The 22-year-old was in her "first full-time job" as a fan service associate for the team, after graduating from the Univ. of Arizona. She also worked for the AHL Tucson Roadrunners (USA TODAY, 10/4).
