The Nuggets yesterday unveiled their new Nike uniforms, which feature a "dominant navy blue hue with only a trim of the old baby blue schemes." The team's Association uniform has a “5280” stitching on the bottom corner of the jersey and a "pick-ax logo on the belt of the shorts" (DENVER POST, 8/9). 

Miami property owners, residents and clergy today in the neighborhoods bordering David Beckham’s proposed MLS stadium site will "gather at St. John Institutional Missionary Baptist Church to rally against" bringing pro soccer to the city. It is the "first sign of organized opposition" to Beckham’s plans (MIAMI HERALD, 8/9).

MLS expansion club LAFC yesterday "laid the cornerstone of its foundation" by agreeing to contract terms with Mexican national team F Carlos Vela. The deal is "expected to be finalized" this morning, and Vela will be "introduced as LAFC’s first designated-player signing Friday" (L.A. TIMES, 8/9). 

USL club FC Cincinnati's "previously-crashed system for buying tickets was back online" last night, "although the club cautioned 'there's no guarantee the site will remain up.'" The Glitnir Ticketing system "went down" yesterday afternoon (CINCINNATI.com, 8/8).
