Morning Hot Reads: The History Of The Boston Garden

Former New Boston Garden Chair Larry Moulter wrote a special piece for the BOSTON GLOBE noting that members of the Hyde Square Task Force "recently uncovered decades-old legislation requiring the Boston Garden to sponsor at least three charitable events each year." In doing so they "directed a spotlight on a crucial but underappreciated episode in the city’s history." The New Garden is "one of the most potent symbols for how far Boston has come." Downtown’s "old civic arena may have been rife with memories -- but it simply wasn’t a welcoming venue for diverse communities."

ESPN goes with the header, "How The College Football Playoff Changed Everything." After three years and 12 participants, the "impact" of the CFP is "being felt." For the "first time in seven years, the Big 12 will have a conference championship game," and that is just one example of the changes that conferences, ADs and coaches are making to adapt to the CFP era.
