Marcel Dionne Praises Aly Raisman's Figure During NHL Awards

U.S. gymnast Aly Raisman "endured an awkward moment on stage" during last night's NHL awards presentations after Hockey HOFer Marcel Dionne "complimented her legs." Raisman and Dionne were on stage together to present the Lady Byng Trophy for gentlemanly play, and as part of their "pre-award patter, Dionne praised Raisman’s gymnastic success." He then "made a sweeping gesture toward Raisman, saying: 'Look at those legs!'" (AP, 6/22).

Maple Leafs blogger Jeff Veillette‏ tweeted, "I could do without the 'look at those legs' from Marcel Dionne to Aly Raisman and the whistles from the crowd. That was pretty bad." TSN Radio contributor Clint O'Neil: "Probably not the smartest thing for Marcel Dionne to say at the NHL Awards in these politically correct days!" Pittsburgh-based KDKA-FM's Colin Dunlap: "Dionne was complimenting Aly Raisman on being an in-shape, hard-working athlete and her body showing the results. Stop being offended."
