NBCSN Kicks Off Coverage Of Royal Ascot Horse Racing Event

NBCSN starting today airs its first Royal Ascot horse racing meet, "perhaps the most prestigious event on the international racing calendar." The five-day event in England "features 30 races, eight with Group 1 status." The net will have "only one host, Nick Luck, and two cameras on site," and it will rely "mostly on ITV’s world feed and segments produced in conjunction with Ascot." NBC Sports will highlight the "arrival each day" of Queen Elizabeth II in a "horse-drawn carriage from Windsor Castle." NBCSN will televise live each day from 8:30am-1:00pm ET, and NBC's “Today” show will "showcase the royal procession" at 9:00am (N.Y. TIMES, 6/20).
