Predators Fans Flood Downtown Nashville For Game 1 Watch Parties

The Penguins beat the Predators 5-3 last night in Pittsburgh, and "thousands of fans descended on downtown Nashville" to watch the franchise's first Stanley Cup Final game. The popularity of the Game 1 watch parties "caused Metro Nashville to expand the viewing areas." The Bridgestone Plaza and Music City Walk of Fame parties "reached capacity well before the game started," and the "overflow caused Bridgestone Arena to open up sections of the lower bowl." More than 3,000 people "watched in the arena" (Nashville TENNESSEAN, 5/30).

Meanwhile, the Penguins last night hosted an "outdoor watch party with a big screen" outside PPG Paints Arena for Game 1, and will do so again for Wednesday's Game 2 (POST-GAZETTE.com, 5/27).
