Four Cities In Running To Host NCAA Frozen Four From '19-22

Boston is among four cities "expected to be named a host site" for an upcoming men's hockey Frozen Four when the NCAA Site Selection Committee "awards its next four venues on April 18." The bids are for '19-22, and the winning cities are "believed to be Detroit, Buffalo, Boston and Pittsburgh." L.A. "has also been rumored to be in the mix." Next year’s event will be held in St. Paul (BOSTON HERALD, 4/7).

Meanwhile, last night's Denver-Notre Dame and Minnesota-Duluth-Harvard games at United Center drew a crowd of 19,626, the "third highest attendance in Frozen Four history and second most" for the semifinals. The "only higher attendance" for Frozen Four games was in '10 at Detroit's Ford Field. Denver will play Minnesota-Duluth on Saturday in the title game at United Center (DENVER POST, 4/7).
