USA Gymnastics Loses First Sponsor Amid Sex Abuse Scandal

Pennsylvania-based Int’l Gymnastics Camp has terminated its sponsorship of USA Gymnastics, the first sponsor to cut ties amid the NGB’s sex abuse scandal. In a statement posted to its web site, Camp Dir Brent Klaus said the IGC had put its sponsorship "on hold" in January and decided to take the next step Thursday. "Gym clubs, coaches and administrators alike deserve the unwavering support from the governing body that sets rules and regulations to keep our athletes safe,” Klaus wrote. "For our sport to continue to flourish, athletes’ safety and well-being must be our most important priority." Other sponsors have remained silent so far.
