Lions Overhauling Ford Field Suites As Part Of Renovation Project

The Lions today are expected to unveil details of their $100M in Ford Field upgrades, including "reconstruction of the stadium's 129 suites," which is already under way. Sources said that "part of the project is retrofitting the suites so that some of them will be capable of combining to create larger suite spaces." Other renovations include "new video boards and an improved sound system, and not-yet-disclosed changes to the stadium's public spaces." Detroit-based Rossetti Associates is the project architect. More plans for the "New Ford Field" will be unveiled tonight in a "private event for suite holders, some premium seat holders and corporate sponsors" (CRAINSDETROIT.com, 2/14).

The suite overhaul will include $750,000 of "interior demolition" work, which is "expected to be finished by early June" (DETROIT NEWS, 2/15).
