Northwestern To Honor Sager With Pinstripe Bowl Helmet Sticker

The Northwestern football team will honor Craig Sager when they face Pitt in today's New Era Pinstripe Bowl, paying tribute to the late broadcaster's "trademark fashion choices" with a helmet sticker. Sager graduated from Northwestern in '73 and "played the role of university mascot Willie the Wildcat during his time" at the school (FOXSPORTS.com, 12/27).

Meanwhile, a collection of Sager-themed pins will go on sale tomorrow at Foot Locker, with "all net proceeds benefiting the SagerStrong Foundation." The three-pin collection features a "colorful, Sager-style suit, a microphone and the SAGERSTRONG word mark." It will retail for $25 and will be available at "nearly 300 Foot Locker stores in New York, California, Texas, Pennsylvania, Florida and Georgia" (AP, 12/28).
