World Series Game 7 Ticket Prices Spike Around Cubs' Win

The Cubs' win last night came with an expected spike in Game 7 ticket prices on the secondary market. On TiqIQ, the average price paid for Game 7 at Progressive Field was $1,800 "before the start of Game 6," then it "started to climb fast." By the end of the game, the average price paid rose to $2,800. The average listing on the site rose 20% between the beginning and end of the game to $4,700. SeatGeek data showed 54% of traffic for Game 7 "came from the state of Illinois," compared to 11% from Ohio (CHICAGOBUSINESS.com, 11/1).

As of the end of Game 6 at about 11:45pm ET last night, the Game 7 get-in price on StubHub was "nearly $1,700 per person." That is "more than double the get-in price for Game 6," nearly $763 as of late Monday night. The "most expensive listing is for up to eight standing room seats" for just over $1.17M each (CLEVELAND.com, 11/2).
