The Cowboys are "now the registered owner of the trademark to the phrase, 'How 'Bout Them Cowboys' for use on apparel" (TWITTER.com, 10/17).

FIFA has "blocked rock concerts from being staged in World Cup stadiums" in the weeks before the '18 tournament kicks off in Russia. FIFA passed a rule "to ensure that the field of play is of the highest quality, it shall not be used for a non-football event" for two months before a stadium's first match (AP, 10/17).

PGA Tour Champions and Japan Airlines announced a new event to be held in suburban Tokyo beginning in '17. The Japan Airlines Championship, the first-ever PGA Tour-sanctioned event to be held in Japan, will be played the week of Sept. 4-10 (PGA Tour Champions).

The Canadian Finals Rodeo is "slated to stay" at Edmonton's Northlands Coliseum until '18 "despite negotiations that could have caused the event to leave the city" (EDMONTON SUN, 10/18).
