ESPN Special Addresses Gun Violence That Is Sweeping The Nation

Last night ESPN aired “An Undefeated Conversation: Athletes, Responsibility and Violence” a special broadcast from Chicago with host Jemele Hill, who said they “chose Chicago because right now gun violence in this city has reached a crisis level. But this is not a Chicago issue or even a black issue because right now across the country a person is killed by a firearm every 16 minutes.” Hill: “What we hope to accomplish over the next 90 minutes is to have a real conversation about how we can get a handle on this crisis because the time for change is now" ("An Undefeated Conversation: Athletes, Responsibility and Violence,” ESPN, 8/25).
