Laugh Track: Water Supply

Last night’s edition of Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show” featured correspondent Jordan Klepper and Roy Wood Jr. commenting on the Rio Games. Wood: “What a week it’s been. We’ve watched the American gymnastics team turn their dreams into Gold and the Brazilians turn their pools into lime green.” Klepper: “Both equally inspirational.” Wood said, “Rio officials have explained that the water is perfectly safe, it’s just green because of a pH imbalance. But with what I’ve been hearing about Rio, I'm just impressed there ain’t no turds in the water.” Wood said of the Brazilian crowds being loud and enthusiastic, often at events where quiet crowds are the norm, “If I’m clapping for your boring-ass sport, you need to appreciate it. No one’s going to be clapping for you when you get back to your day job at the coffee shop” (“The Daily Show,” Comedy Central, 8/11).
