FC Cincinnati Breaks USL's Single-Season Attendance Record

USL club FC Cincinnati yesterday drew a crowd of 16,127 for its match against N.Y. Red Bulls II, raising its total attendance for the season to 164,109 and "shattering the USL single-season attendance mark set last year by Sacramento FC (158,516)." With five home matches remaining, Cincinnati is "averaging just more than 16,400 fans per game, which also paces USL" (CINCINNATI ENQUIRER, 7/21). The team "originally set a goal to attract 10,000 fans to each game in its inaugural season as part of its effort to eventually join" MLS (BIZJOURNALS.com, 7/21).
