Tom Brady's Lawyers Set To Appeal Reinstated Suspension

Patriots QB Tom Brady by today's deadline will "appeal the decision to reinstate his suspension." His lawyers "will almost certainly file for an 'en banc' rehearing, in which all 13 active judges in the Second Circuit would decide whether to hear another appeal." The other option is to "file for a panel rehearing, in which the same three judges from before would rehear the case, but that option seems unlikely" (BOSTON GLOBE, 5/23). The court traditionally "has not granted an en banc session, showing respect for the decisions of its three-judge panels" (ESPNBOSTON.com, 5/23).

There "aren't many in the legal community who give Brady a good chance to either overturn the suspension or continue to push the legal ball down the field so he'll be able to play while the case continues to be adjudicated" (MMQB.SI.com, 5/22).
