Giants' Mara: Concussions, CTE Are Biggest Issues For NFL Owners

Giants President & CEO John Mara said that the long-term effect of concussions and the link between football and CTE are the "most serious issues confronting NFL owners" at this week's meetings. Mara: "I am startled to a certain extent by the rise in concussions this year because we were on a steady downward trend for the last three years, and all of a sudden they spiked. ... We're still not even close to having the knowledge that we need to have going forward. That's why we're spending millions of dollars in research." Mara added that the owners "grasp the magnitude of the CTE crisis" (ESPN.com, 3/20).
