Nickelodeon Rolling Out Second Season Of "Soccer Superstar"

Nickelodeon today will announce plans for a second season of “Soccer Superstar,” the net’s reality sports competition series that seeks to find the best teen female soccer player in the U.S. Former USWNT D Heather Mitts returns as host alongside with a panel of judges that includes former USMNT D Marcelo Balboa and former USWNT MF Angela Hucles.

The show, which premieres this summer as part of the NickSports lineup, will have six half-hour episodes. The program today is holding its first showcase at FC Dallas Goal Week, followed by showcases in Tampa (Feb. 20), Denver (Feb. 27) and San Diego (March 5). The show is produced by Magic Pictures Int’l, with Kristopher Lythgoe, Michael Cohen and Adam Kay serving as exec producers.
