Astros Draw Biggest Crowd Since Season Opener For ALDS Game

The Astros could clinch the ALDS today at home in Game 4 against the Royals, and yesterday's sellout attendance of 42,647 marked the "biggest crowd at Minute Maid Park since the season opener." These are the first MLB playoff games in Houston in 10 years. Astros Owner Jim Crane: "This was the biggest crowd we've had in a long time, and the fans were into it. Nobody left their seat" (HOUSTON CHRONICLE, 10/12). Even as recently as "a few weeks ago, the Astros struggled to sell tickets." But those "nightmare days are over" (HOUSTON CHRONICLE, 10/11).
