NFL Owners To Hear L.A. Stadium Plans; Chargers Slam S.D. Proposal

The Chargers and Raiders today outside Chicago present their plans for a Carson, Calif., stadium to full NFL ownership, while Rams Owner Stan Kroenke offers his vision for his stadium in Inglewood, Calif. The full ownership meeting today is called for the express purpose of updating owners on L.A. No decisions are expected, though owners are expected to hear plans on a potential seat deposit program in L.A, and an assessment of potential relocation fee values.

The Chargers' top outside environmental counsel, George Mihlsten, yesterday told key NFL owners that the city of San Diego’s stadium plan is “doomed to face years of litigation,” according to Chargers Special Counsel Mark Fabiani. Mihlsten, an attorney with Latham Watkins, re-emphasized the team contention that the city’s stadium plan relies on too short a period for environmental review that will surely get thrown out in court. The city presented to the six-owner Committee on L.A. Opportunities, which is overseeing the expected NFL relocation to L.A. by next year.
