Big 12 Football Media Days: Expansion Will Be Hot Topic

The Big 12's preseason football media gathering begins today at the Omni Hotel in Dallas, with coverage on FS Southwest. The "national spotlight won't be as intense for the Big 12" as it was for the SEC media days last week. The conference is heading into its 20th season (HOUSTON CHRONICLE, 7/20). Commissioner Bob Bowlsby "will discuss" expansion during today's state-of-the-conference address, but he will say that there is "nothing on the docket right now." Iowa State AD Jamie Pollard said, "I don't see a need to do it. Somebody needs to quantify why we should do it" (DES MOINES REGISTER, 7/20).

The ACC also kicks off its football media days at Pinehurst, N.C. The Raleigh NEWS & OBSERVER offers five "ACC-centric questions to consider during the three-day kickoff event."
