Laugh Track....Taste The Rainbow

Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch appeared on TBS’ “Conan” last night wearing a “Beastmode” T-shirt. Host Conan O’Brien noted Lynch is a “superstar and you could do commercials for anybody and you chose to do a local commercial in Seattle for Beacon Plumbing.” O’Brien: “I know Nike’s on the phone and you’re like, ‘No, tell Nike, no.’” The broadcast aired the ad, with Lynch admitting he had “never watched that before.” Lynch said he was “trying to get into the community.” O’Brien: “I think that’s fantastic that you did that.” The end of the interview featured a discussion about Lynch’s love of Skittles, with O’Brien noting Lynch is “famous for jumping backwards into the end zone." Conan: "I thought maybe it’s a long dream of yours to jump backwards into an end zone filled with Skittles” (“Conan,” TBS, 6/29).

Last night’s edition of ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” featured an “advertisement” for the “Esurance Major League Baseball All-Star Game Ballot” starring show staffer Guillermo Rodriguez. Host Jimmy Kimmel said, “The paperless, all digital aspect of the ballot has made a tremendous difference in the lives of baseball fans everywhere, including – wouldn’t you know it? – our very own Guillermo” (“Jimmy Kimmel Live,” ABC, 6/29).
