Developer's Plans For New Raiders Stadium Expected Today

Developer Floyd Kephart and his New City Development have until today to "disclose how they intend to finance" a $1B-plus new Raiders stadium in Oakland. The group "won’t name any of its potential investors," and Raiders Owner Mark Davis "has yet to sign on." New City is expected to deliver the "framework for a deal that would include selling a portion of land at the Coliseum complex to the Raiders at fair market value – but ask the city and county to finance" $100-140M in "infrastructure improvements" (SFCHRONICLE.com, 6/21).

Meanwhile, A's Owner Lew Wolff said there is "no good way to put two brand-new venues at the Coliseum site." Wolff: "If the Raiders are going to be there, then I don't know what will happen. We'll have to sit down with [MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred] and see what to do. ... I don't want this fellow (Kephart) telling the A's what to do. We have no desire to compete with the Raiders for PSLs and sponsors" (BAY AREA NEWS GROUP, 6/22).
