Baylor football is “looking into playing at an international site” in the near future, and “all indications” are that the '16 season opener will be in Australia against a Pac-12 opponent (WACO TRIBUNE-HERALD, 6/18).

College commissioners yesterday voted to “table a proposal that would’ve allowed football teams to have an early, 72-hour signing period” (AUSTIN AMERICAN-STATESMAN, 6/18).

The new team store at Nationals Park last night held “a grand opening ceremony” prior to the Rays-Nationals game (WASHINGTONPOST.com, 6/17).

MLS Atlanta announced plans to unveil its name and logo July 7 during an event at SOHO Lounge. The event is “only for members of the team’s Founder’s Club” (AJC.com, 6/17).

The Twins last night drew a crowd of 34,381 for the home debut of rookie CF Byron Buxton. Buxton T-shirts “were briefly sold out an hour before game time, but were quickly restocked” (Minneapolis STAR TRIBUNE, 6/18). The team is averaging 25,164 fans at Target Field this season to date (THE DAILY).
