Sources: DC United, District Finalize Stadium Development Deal

Sources said that DC United ownership and Mayor Muriel Bowser "have finalized a stadium development deal to keep the team in DC provided that the District government secures the needed land by Sept. 30." Officials said that Bowser is expected to announce the deal today. Still in play is the "basic deal" in which the District would pay $150M to acquire land on Buzzard Point, with the team to then "privately finance a stadium of around 20,000 seats" (WASHINGTON POST, 6/9).
