Laugh Track....The Eagle Has Landed

NBC’s Jimmy Fallon said, “Tomorrow Obama will host NASCAR champion Kevin Harvick at the White House. The two said they both look forward to spending an hour or two not having the slightest interest in what the other is saying.” More Fallon: “It was reported today that Tim Tebow will officially sign a contract with the Eagles! It was pretty shocking, mainly because I didn’t even know he played an instrument. … To celebrate, Tebow threw a huge party, which was intercepted and returned for a touchdown” (“The Tonight Show,” NBC, 4/20).

CBS’ David Letterman said, “The New York Mets have won eight in a row! Astronomers say this won’t happen again for another 10,000 years.” More Letterman: “The Eagles signed Tim Tebow and the general manager was immediately checked for a concussion. Tim Tebow has been on the bench longer than Ruth Bader Ginsburg” (“Late Show,” CBS, 4/20).

Comedy Central’s Larry Wilmore talked about ESPN’s Britt McHenry and how her “abusive rant” towards a tow truck driver “went viral” resulting in her being suspended by ESPN. Wilmore said, “You get your car towed you're going to be angry. I remember one time I said to the lady at the tow place, ‘Hey! I'm angry!’ So I get it. What could she have said that's worthy of a job suspension?” The broadcast aired clips of McHenry belittling the driver, with Wilmore saying, “That uppity tow pound clerk thinks she's better than everyone else. Look at her sitting all judge-y over her junkyard kingdom. Put her in her place, pretty white lady who's used to everybody doing what she says because she's a pretty white lady!” Wilmore added the female driver did not want McHenry to be suspended, “So the woman who's being accused of being low-class actually has all the class.” Wilmore said of McHenry’s Twitter apology, “I heard Twitter accepted her apology but the lady she actually insulted is still waiting for hers” (“The Nightly Show With Larry Wilmore,” Comedy Central, 4/20).
