Will Ferrell Playing In Spring Training Games For HBO Special

Comedian Will Ferrell today will visit five Spring Training ballparks in Arizona as production begins on a new HBO special from Funny Or Die in partnership with MLB. Ferrell is dedicating the special to the fight against cancer and honoring former MLBer Bert Campaneris by playing every position on the field for 10 different teams in the same day. The special is slated to air later this year. The effort can be followed on social media with the hashtag #FerrellTakesTheField (MLB).

Meanwhile, MLB Network's Matt Vasgersian and FS San Diego's Mark Grant will reunite to call tonight's Dodgers-Padres game for MLB Net. The two called Padres games together for seven seasons, but this will mark their first collaboration since '08. They will join Dodgers broadcasters Rick Monday and Alanna Rizzo for the telecast, "produced by MLB Network and simulcast" on FS San Diego (SAN DIEGO UNION-TRIBUNE, 3/12).
