Night Moves....For The Birds

Last night’s 11:00pm ET edition of ESPN’s “SportsCenter” led with Penguins C Sidney Crosby being involved in an on-ice fight, followed by NASCAR driver Danica Patrick being wrecked by fellow driver Denny Hamlin, Mavericks-Thunder and NBA trade deadline talk. Last night’s 11:00pm ET edition of FS1’s “Fox Sports Live” led with NASCAR’s Budweiser Duel, followed by NBA trade deadline deals, Mavericks-Thunder and Spurs-Clippers.

ESPN’s Keith Olbermann called out his “world’s worst” persons in sports: film director Alfred Hitchcock for his movie “The Birds” – set in the S.F. Bay Area – which gave "them" the idea. The show aired a video clip of a bird "photobombing" a webcam atop Levi's Stadium during the setup for Saturday's NHL Stadium Series game. Olbermann also derided 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick, “who got into trouble on the Twitter” after an online “troll” questioned his study habits, and Rams GM Les Snead for "reaching for the weirdest analogy in sports" when he compared the “continuity” of the team promoting Frank Cignetti to offensive coordinator to the man who cured syphilis after hundreds of attempts.
