UFC's Fertitta, White To Address Spate Of Positive Drug Tests

UFC CEO Lorenzo Fertitta and President Dana White today will hold a news conference to "address the spate" of recent failed drug tests, but it is not known whether they will "lay out concrete steps to combat illicit drug usage" (SPORTS.YAHOO.com, 2/18). The press conference in Las Vegas is "closed to the public but will be streamed live at ufc.com." Nevada Athletic Commission Exec Dir Bob Bennett said that he "thinks the organization is serious about cleaning up the sport" (LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL, 2/18).

The fact that news of fighters' positive tests has been released "soon after their lucrative fights" has created a "public relations problem" for the UFC (L.A. TIMES, 2/18).
