U.S. Figure Skating Championships Run Smoothly In Greensboro

The U.S. Figure Skating Championships yesterday wrapped up a nine-day run at Greensboro Coliseum. The crowd of 11,416 on hand for Saturday night's women's free skate was the "largest single-session attendance" from the '15 or '11 event, when Greensboro previously hosted. However, attendance for the full event "will almost certainly fall short of the 110,787 from last time." Hill Carrow, who chairs the local organizing committee, said, "We're going to end up a little behind the overall ticket sales from 2011." As whole, the event "did run smoothly" (Greensboro NEWS & RECORD, 1/26).
