Laugh Track....On Pins and Needles

NBC’s Jimmy Fallon said, “Happy Martin Luther King Day. Thank you for being here. Most people celebrated by taking the day off from work, except for the Indianapolis Colts, who did that yesterday.” Fallon said of the NFL’s investigation into whether the Patriots used deflated footballs during the AFC Championship game, “First time there’s been a sports controversy about deflated balls that doesn’t involve steroids" (“The Tonight Show,” NBC, 1/19).

ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel said, “The matchup for Super Bowl XLIX is set. Tom Brady and the New England Patriots take on defending champs Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks. ... Idina Menzel from the movie ‘Frozen’ will sing the National Anthem. Katy Perry will perform during halftime. It’s the first Super Bowl targeted specifically at seven-year-old girls." Kimmel: “Patriots allegedly deflated the balls by telling them they’re worthless and would never amount to anything. So there are a bunch of press conferences and interviews today. The Patriots are denying it. Tom Brady called the reports ridiculous. Coach Bill Belichick was very clear. He said there was no tampering. He said all the needles they have are used strictly for injecting steroids into the players and that’s it. So back off everybody” (“Jimmy Kimmel Live,” ABC, 1/19).
