Troy Vincent Not Slated To Testify At Adrian Peterson Appeal Hearing

Viking RB Adrian Peterson will get an appeal hearing today for his indefinite suspension, and a source said that NFL Exec VP/Football Operations Troy Vincent "isn't scheduled to testify." However, appeals officer Harold Henderson "could call Vincent for a separate testimony later in the week." Peterson recorded conversations in which Vincent pushed him to "attend a Nov. 14 hearing with outside experts," a source said. Vincent is "on the witness list" for today's Senate Commerce Committee hearing on domestic violence (USATODAY.com, 12/1).

MLB, NBA, NFL and NHL reps today will testify before the U.S. Senate Commerce Committee about domestic violence in pro sports. U.S. Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D-W.Va.), who chairs the committee, called the hearing, saying "until very recently, the leagues' records have not been very good" on the issue. MLBPA, NBPA and NHLPA officials are scheduled to appear, while the NFLPA "will not be represented" (AP, 12/2).
