Secondary Ticket Prices Spike For World Series Games In S.F.

Secondary market ticket prices for this weekend’s World Series games in S.F. have escalated in the last three days, reaching an average list price of $1,233 per ticket for Games 3-5, according to ticket aggregator TiqIQ. The figures are up 8% from prior to the start of the World Series, but remain well below an average list price of $1,701 for the Giants’ home games in the '10 World Series and $1,256 per ticket for the AT&T Park games in the '12 World Series. Standing-room tickets for Game 4 tomorrow have particularly jumped in price in recent days, rising 15% to an average of $651.

Meanwhile, the Giants last night held a World Series gala for more than 2,000 invited guests at S.F.’s Pier 27, which last month was the site of a grand opening of a new $100M cruise ship terminal.
